William Douglass

August 12, 1960 — December 22, 2021

William Mark Douglass, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend passed peacefully into Heaven on December 22, 2021 after a six month bout with cancer. Will, as he was known, was employed by The Home Depot as a Product Support Specialist and was also an ordained Pastor and Minister of the Gospel. He and his wife Laura led His Fish Tank, a House Church, and later a Bethel Atlanta Life Group for over ten years. He was also the Co-founder of A Word in Season Ministries International, Inc.

Will was a graduate of Bethel Atlanta School of Supernatural Ministry and attended church at Bethel Atlanta, a church plant of Bethel Redding. He was also educated at the Art Institute of Atlanta and DeVry University.

He was known and loved for his kind and genial good nature, patient, and thoughtful ways as well as his often hilarious and witty remarks and antics, and creative spirit. But Will was also a thoughtful scholar of the Bible, and loved to spend hours digging deep into the Strong’s Concordance, with his glasses on the bridge of his nose searching out the root meanings of words from the Greek and Hebrew. Will loved to sing, read, teach the Scriptures and Christian principles in a very unique, and often funny way, entertain friends around his table with a good meal, explore antique shops and consignment stores looking for treasures, with his wife by his side, and walk and play with his dog, Mister.

He was halfway finished with his first book, 42 Beautiful, which he had been researching and writing for 20 years.  Noted author, podcaster and Pastor Debbie Kitterman was his writing coach and mentor.

Will is survived by his devoted wife Laura, his beloved daughter Brittany Hazelton of Clearlake, California, his father, author and Catholic Worker Theologian, James Wilson Douglass of Birmingham Alabama, and his brother and sister, Peter Douglass of Wimberley, Texas, and Jennifer Douglass of Hedley, British Columbia, Canada. He was predeceased by his wonderful, talented actress mother Sally Ann Cotton Douglass.

Will was greatly loved and will be warmly missed by his many friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future time.
