Freddie L. Stoker, age 71, of Canton, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018.
Freddie was born in Walker County, Georgia to the late J.C. Stoker and Nola Bee Sutton Stoker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Delmar Stoker, James Stoker, Perry Stoker, and Doyle Stoker.
Freddie loved the Lord and he enjoyed worshiping at Waleska Church of God of Prophecy where he sang in the men's quartet and the choir. He truly enjoyed being outside- whether it was gardening and tending to his tomatoes, fishing, or working on his lawn mower.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Darlene Stoker of Canton; sons and daughters, Danny L. Stoker (Becky Gossett) of Canton, Karen D. Welchel (Todd) of Jasper, Melissa D. Stoker (Michael Byess) of Jasper, and Donna L. Stoker (Chris Lamanac) of Waleska; nine grandchildren, Malcolm A. Welchel, Jeremy D. Stoker (Sam), M. Tyler Byess (Brittany), Erica Leanna King (Jody), Nicholas S. Byess, Taylor Elizabeth White, Aspen Nicole White, and Jacob L. Stoker; five great grandchildren, Alexis Byess, Tucker Stoker, Raelyn Byess, Jaxon King, and Harper White; two sisters, Jean Williams (Bill) of Acworth, and Bonnie Sester (Buster) of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-5:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. Monday, and 10:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel of Canton Funeral Home.
A celebration of Freddie's life will take place at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday in the Chapel with Pastor Dottie Williams and Mr. Byron Tillery officiating. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park.
